Black Label Society- Hangover Music

Reviewed by Luke Seagrave

Zakk Wylde somehow managed to find time to record some new material with his own band Black Label Society, as well as still being able to carry out his duties with Ozzy Osbourne.

Opening track ‘Crazy Or High’ demonstrates that Zakk is still one of the best guitarists around, with some great intricate guitar picking. The vocals sound like it is Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, and I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing.

‘Queen of Sorrow’ has a more heavy dark sound to it, and is certainly one of the better tracks on the album, however this album is so consistently good that it is really difficult to pick one track that stands out in particular- however, ‘House of Doom’ is quite impressive and it is rumoured that it will be the first single to be released from the album.

It is very rare that you can listen an album all the way through without skipping a track, however the songs are so well written that there isn’t one track that you will dislike. A truly rocktastic album. Fingers crossed that Black Label Society will go on tour soon.
