Beastie Boys- An Open Letter To NYC

Reviewed by Luke Seagrave

Okay, no prizes for guessing what this song is about, it is self-explanatory. Beastie Boys have decided to write a song about how the city survived in the face of extreme adversity.

With references to the Trade Centre- this is certainly going to evoke strong emotions from their fans in New York and surrounding cities. The lyrics are poignant but as always there seems to be an underlying theme of how great New York is- ‘Dear New York, I know a lot has changed, 2 towers down but you’re still in the game is just one example.

This is just a classic Beastie Boys track- you know what to expect by now!!
