Amplifier return with good all round solid EP. The band have never been afraid of taking their music into different directions, and they have always managed to produce unique sounding songs. ‘The Astronaut Dismantles HAL’ is no exception to the rule.

Opening track ‘Continuum’ is full of twinkling sharp notes to give it a sound that could come straight from a sci-fi movie! Admittedly eight minutes is a long time for a unless you are a band like Queen or Metallica, but apart from the length of the song, this is a well-crafted piece of songwriting which slowly builds up into a massive crescendo of chaotic noise- possibly to represent the ‘Big Bang’ theory?

The entire EP is full of soulful and propulsive tracks, which go to demonstrate that rock music is far from dead!
