Ashanti is probably the perfect candidate to take over from where Aaliyah left off. Ashanti has a dreamy pleasant voice and she will definitely appeal to the youth of today.

The little bit of knowledge that I have learned about Ashanti is that she writes her own lyrics, which is quite a rarity nowadays.

Sadly even though she writes her own lyrics, the samples are taken from other records. What is worse is that she has double sampled, because she used a sample from Biggie Smalls ‘One More chance’, which was originally taken from a song by Debarge

‘Foolish’ is a bit repetitive in places but it isn’t too much of a problem, because her brilliant singing voice makes you forget that she is using a lot of repetition.

Despite these minor criticisms ‘Foolish’ is one of those songs that would be great on a car tape as it is one of those songs that are nice to listen to but only once every so often.
