Adem- Launch Yourself

Reviewed by Luke Seagrave

‘Launch Yourself’ is a slow gentle track that is wonderfully woven- with it’s pitter-patter of busy percussion- tongue clucks, spoons, wood blocks- and offbeat clattering.

This single has an edgy sound and the layered vocals are entangled with the mournful cellos, struck glocks and tinkled bells. The vocals are delivered at half the rate of the beat which makes the music sounds as if it rushing along incredibly quick.

This isn’t the sort of music that I would normally listen to- and even though the song is well produced and Adem is undoubtedly very talented- the song itself just didn’t jump out at me and overly impress me- it was enjoyable to hear, but nothing spectacular!
